The collaboration is in the field of conjugated polymers for use in semiconductor devices. The aim of this work is to understand the electronic properties of novel solution-processible semiconductors, and to use this knowledge to improve the operation of devices based on these materials. The programme will involve advanced spectroscopy, characterisation of polymer devices including light-emitting diodes and solar cells, and modelling of fundamental electronic processes. The specific areas of collaboration are:
- Ultrafast dynamics of organic and polymeric semiconductor materials
- Development of new organic optoelectronic devices, including organic/inorganic devices.
- Modelling of electronic processes in organic semiconductor materials and devices.
