CORDE is the collaborative R&D environment for physics at the Cavendish Laboratory.
Open to all university and industry researchers, CORDE provides access to our equipment, resources and knowledge base – giving you the chance to conduct research using facilities and expertise unique to Cambridge. Designed to enhance physics-related capabilities, CORDE represents a new approach to university resource sharing.
CORDE is a national facility supported by the Engineering & Physical Sciences Research Council, part of UK Research and Innovation (URKI).
Our offer
We are currently offering a limited set of CORDE capabilities in advance of our full launch in 2025, after the Department of Physics has moved into the newly built Ray Dolby Centre.
- Nanofabrication (cleanroom processing MBE & deposition, lithography and E-Beam)

- Access to Department of Physics operated equipment in the Henry Royce Institute
