We have now received official confirmation from STFC that our Department is limited to supporting three applications for the 2025/26 Ernest Rutherford Fellowship Applications.
The STFC Ernest Rutherford Fellowships support outstanding early-career researchers aiming to establish independent careers in areas aligned with STFC-relevant fields (such as Astrophysics and High Energy Physics). The fellowships provide up to five years of funding to enable recipients to pursue innovative research at a host institution. Due to institutional limits on applications, the Cavendish Laboratory operates an internal selection process.
Interested in applying?
Potential applicants should complete the online departmental Expression of Interest Form. They will also be required to identify a host academic within the Department, upload CV, Publication list as well as a short summary of their research proposal by Friday 4th July 2025 at 16:00hrs.
Please read the STFC guidance carefully before applying, including the eligibility. This will be available alongside the funding from 4 June 2025 onwards.
