Congratulations to Megan Stanley, who was a member of the winning team in this year's iGEM competition. The Cambridge team was awarded the Grand Prize at the iGEM2009 Synthetic Biology competition finals at MIT. As well as winning the overall prize for best project, the Cambridge team was awarded a gold medal, and trophy for the best project in the Environment Track.

Congratulations to Frederik Floether, a Part II ETP student, who has won the Higher Education Academy Physical Sciences Centre Student Essay award for the second year running. This year the "essay" took the form of a PowerPoint presentation.
