UCS Interruptions

Desktop Services and MCS Network Interruption - Wednesday 23rd May - 08:00 - 08:30

Due to a lack of resiliency to Desktop Services and the MCS, essential maintenance will be carried out between 08:00 - 08:30 Wednesday 23rd May 2012. During this period no access will be possible to any resources within both Desktop Services and the MCS We regret this interruption to service Should you encounter any issues after this period please contact the UCS Service Desk.

UCS Mac Software server unavailable Saturday 19th May 12:00 - 18:00

The UCS Macintosh Software Update server (macsus.csx.cam.ac.uk) will be unavailable for a hardware upgrade Saturday 19th May 12:00 - 18:00

Thu 17 May, 17.30-17.45: Jackdaw Services interrupted

Jackdaw Database Services (including @cam email directory and IP registration database) will be interrupted for about 5 minutes between 17:30 and 17:45 on Thu 17 May for a kernel patch.

CUDN emergency maintenance - 17:00-17:30 Tue 15 May

There will be interruptions to network services between 17.00 and 17.30 this evening to attempt to resolve a router fault. This will cause an outage on the Lapwing wireless service for 5-15 minutes at some point during this time. This will also interrupt access to all central services (Hermes, www.cam and MCS etc) for a few seconds. We regret the inconvenience caused

Wed 16 May, 17:30 - 19:00 MCS remote Linux service & DS-Filestore SFTP service unavailable

The MCS remote Linux service and the DS-Filestore SFTP service will be unavailable between 17:30 and 19:00 on Wednesday the 16th of May for software updates.

The CTA Network and the connection to the UCS will be down after 16.00 Wed 21st for essenital maintenance.

Wed 7 Oct, 10.00 - : Cavendish VOIP and Network Issues

Problems with voice and data network. Telecomms office have been informed.

Thu 10 Sep, 08.00 - 09.00: BSS and HEP Separation

Shortly after 8am tomorrow, BSS and HEP will move from the Cavendish network to their own independent networks. This shouldn\'t affect the rest of the Cavendish network in any way, but there\'s a small possibility that some computers will end up on the wrong network.
