The brain is an amazing statistical machine performing pattern discovery, learning, and memory with simple and unreliable massively parallel hardware.

The group seeks to understand how the brain works by developing artificial neural networks. We are especially interested in the possible role of precise timing of neural events in the learning of analogue patterns.
