Biography:
Studied in Moscow, obtaining the PhD in 1985; then carried out postdoctoral research in CWRU (Cleveland, Ohio). After moving to Cambridge in 1992, became a University Lecturer in 1998 and the Professor of Polymer Physics in 2005.
Research Interests:
Worked extensively on modelling polymers and liquid crystals, and more recently, on the physics of liquid crystalline elastomers. Interested and involved in a wide range of theoretical and experimental problems in soft-matter and biological physics, mainly focusing on structure and mechanical properties of complex materials.
