Greater Cambridge 10k Race

Sunday 11th September – West Cambridge Site – 10:30am

The 10k on the West of Cambridge site promises to be the best chance yet to run your PB. The course is 2 1/2 lap, flat and traffic free. The event also offers the unique opportunity to run around the West of Cambridge site, home to some amazing architecture which has been built for University of Cambridge.  The course is a UKA measured course and there will be chip timing in place for the event.

This is an event for runners of all abilities.

Car Parking

Car Parking will be available on the West of Cambridge site. You will enter the West of Cambridge site via JJ Thompson Avenue and you will be directed to parking from this point. Parking is free of charge. You will not be able to exit the car parks until the race has been completed as the roads to the car park will be utilised for the route whilst the event is on. If you need to exit the event early please park in Madingley Park and Ride and walk across. Please ensure that you are parking by 10.15 if you want to park on  the West Cambridge site as roads will be closed there after apart from access for emergency vehicles.

On Arrival

Please arrive at the event at least an hour before the start time and head to the University of Cambridge Sports Centre where you will be directed to registration which will be in the Sports Hall.


You will need to register at least an hour before you start the race. Registration is open from 8.30 am in the main sports hall. You will need to pick up your race pack which will have your race number and chip in it before the race. Please make sure you have safety pins to secure your race number before the event and write emergency contact details on the back of the race number in case of emergency.

Baggage Drop

There will be a baggage drop in operation on the day for a fee of £2. The baggage drop will also be situated in the Sports Hall.

What is the age limit?

The minimum age for this event is 17.

Where will the toilets be?

You will be able to access toilets in the University of Cambridge Sports Centre building.

Can I run with a buggy or a scooter?

This is a non wheels race apart from wheelchairs. We will not be allowing buggies, scooters or bikes on the course.

Will there be an aerobic warm up?

We will be running an aerobic warm up at 10.00am for anyone wanting to warm up and get ready for the run.

Will there be water on route?

There will be a water station at the 5k point on the course however please do bring water with you to keep you hydrated throughout the event. You will also receive a bottle of water once you cross the finishing line.

When will I be able to get my result?

Your result we be posted on the same day as the race and we will supply a link to the results nearer the time.

Where is the Start/Finish for the event?

This will be outside the University of Cambridge Sports Centre building
