I obtained a PhD in Physics at the University of Zaragoza, Spain, where I developed novel nanofabrication techniques based on focused electron and ion beams. In 2010 I became a postdoc at the group of Prof. Cowburn at Imperial College. That same year, I moved at the University of Cambridge, being awarded with a Marie Curie Fellow to work at the Cavendish Laboratory on three-dimensional magnetic nanostructures. From 2014 I am an EPSRC Early Career Fellow and a Winton Advanced Research Fellow at the Cavendish Laboratory, where I am investigating new ways to fabricate nanomagnets, aiming to create a new generation of spintronic devices.
I investigate more efficient mechanisms to store information using Nanotechnology and magnetic materials. In particular, I am using advanced direct-write nanolithography techniques based on focused electron and ion beams to pattern magnetic materials at the nanoscale, aiming to create a new generation of spintronic devices. My research has applications in many Nanotechnology areas, which allows me to collaborate with a wide range of research groups around the world.
